This site will pass 50 million hits in early 2015, 20 years after it was established, in the early days of the Web. It continues to accumulate them at over 4 million hits p.a., and is linked to from thousands of pages. The National Library of Australia's Pandora project judged the site to be sufficiently significant that it established an annual archival copy of the site in 2006.
The resources available are in several specialised areas, and can be accessed by means of the buttons above. There are well over 2,000 documents on the site. They mostly arise from my consulting and research work combined with a general inquisitiveness about how things work; but most of them are intended to be readable and useful. As the copyright notice says, you're very welcome to use these resources in appropriate ways.
The categories into which the resources fall reflect my interests. My professional background was as what's called these days as 'a business analyst'. Since the mid-1980s, I've conducted consultancy work on strategic, policy and public interest as aspects of eBusiness, information infrastructure, and dataveillance and privacy. I've provided expert evidence in a variety of areas. More than you'd ever want to know about me is available under the buttons below.
The content and infrastructure for these community service pages are provided by Roger Clarke through his consultancy company, Xamax.
From the site's beginnings in August 1994 until February 2009, the infrastructure was provided by the Australian National University. During that time, the site accumulated close to 30 million hits. It passed 40 million by the end of 2012.
