Ken and Alannah, 2005	Jane, Clare and Cate, New Year 2005-06

After graduating in Medicine I worked at the Princess Alexandra, Mater Children's and Mothers, Redcliffe and country remote relieving -Mt Isa and Charleville areas. Since 1982 I have been in General Practice in Bundaberg.

I met Alannah Barlow, who was the Charge Nurse at the Mater Mothers Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We married in 1979, and have three daughters, Catherine (26): Early Childhood Teacher living in UK, Jane (24): Professional Actor + Cellist, resides in New York, and Clare (22): Communication/Graphic Designer, also living in UK (I cannot be held responsible for their good looks).

Apart from my vitally important family and professional life, I have squeezed in the following from time to time:

• University German as atonement for my and Herr Ostors sins.
• Playing the piano, 45 years on (as deference to Ian Dorricott)
• Studying (not fatalistic character building) Astrology.
• Skiing in Austria.
• Pedaled across the Golden Gate bridge in wind gusts of 60km/hr!
• Regular mountain climbing, favourite climb being Mt Barney
• One of my special highlights both in hospital and private practice has been the teaching of nurses, medical students and doctors.

Beware! I have a plethera of jokes to tell, most of which are in German.
