Davina Daniel

Davina joined the Queensland Department of Education from Year 12 doing basic training at Kedron Park Teachers College before returning to Bundaberg for two years. Teaching at Blackwater, Hopevale and Brisbane were valuable experiences before training as teacher-librarian in 1973. Working in Moranbah and Norville in Bundaberg as well a period in The Department's Library and Resource Services followed. A lengthy term at Redland Bay State School provided many happy times before returning to the Bundaberg district nearly five years ago to work at Gin Gin and in the Bundaberg town area. At present she is being kept very busy in the libraries at Bundaberg Central, Bundaberg Special School and Burnett Heads.

Other special interests have included a long term membership of Toastmasters International . This is an organisation which uses public speaking to enhance people's confidence and self-esteem. She achieved the position of District Governor which meant looking after members in all of Queensland, all of the Northern Territory and part of New South Wales. Travelling to the United States for International Conventions was a real highlight of this very rewarding role.
