After moving to Loxton in SA, completed secondary schooling in Adelaide in 1967.

RMC Duntroon 1968 - 1971.

Married Carmel in December 1971.

Initial pilot training at Pt Cook in 1975 through Army Aviation.

Posting around the traps including Brisbane 1972-3 and 1983-86, stints in Antarctica, Irian Jaya, then Kashmir (UN) 1979-80, several to Oakey (QLD), Queenscliff (VIC) 1983, Canberra 1988 - 1997, then Paris March 1997 - Jan 2001 as Defence Attaché.

Currently with Australian Aerospace, ARH (Tiger helicopter) training project manager.

Reside in Glebe - inner west of Sydney, office in North Ryde but spending many days in Brisbane at Australian Aerospace HQ and also in Oakey.

2 children, Ian 25 and Nicole 21. Carmel teaching at Trinity Grammar.
